Completion Success

MAJESTIC MANAGEMENT CORPORATION gained national attention with the 10 for 10 completion of it’s Blue Hole Drilling & Recovery Program. The following articles are taken from the "Oil & Gas Investor", "Hart’s Oil & Gas World", "American Oil & Gas Reporter", and "The Hart County News-Herald".
"The Edmonson County "oil boom" has jumped across Mammoth Cave National Park into Hart County, Kentucky, reports Mammoth Geophysical Inc., Barrackville, WV. The first large scale drilling program north of the park was kicked off recently by Majestic Management Corporation, Albany, KY. Five Silurian Brownsport oil wells producing from about 850 feet, have been completed on Majestic’s Hickerson lease in 1-1-42, a few miles south west of Munfordville on an 800 acre block along Green River. The initial #15 well made 28 bbl. Of oil per day on pump, while a flowing well, the #7, is expected to be gauged at more than 30 bbl. per day. The wells are part of Majestic’s Blue Hole drilling program. Mammoth Geophysical provided the data used to pick the drillsites."

Geology of the Blue Hole

The Blue Hole prospect is located about eight miles west of Munfordville, the County Seat of Hart County. The acreage lies along the Green River. The 1,000+ acre prospect leases are readily accessible for drilling. Louisville, Kentucky is about 60 miles to the north and Nashville, Tennessee is about 100 miles to the south along interstate 65.

This area in the Forestville Community of Hart County is located to the west of the Cincinnati Arch and is on the eastern rim of the Illinois Basin. Most of the production in this area comes from dolomite and limestone formation.

The prospect lies directly on trend with both the Coghill lease to the west and the Logsdon Valley Field to the east, both of which are producing from the Brownsport formation. The presently producing wells on the Blue Hole Prospect seem to be a continuation of the oil pools that are situated to the east and west. The prospect field has a solution gas drive. The reservoir characteristics appear to be similar to the other productive areas of Hart County. It appears that numerous additional wells can be successfully drilled on this acreage.

The Logsdon Valley Field was discovered in 1930 and produced about 3,000,000 barrels of oil in the first three years of production. Some of the initial wells flowed while drilling. One of the first wells flowed at a rate of about 900 barrels of oil per day. Several of these wells have been in continuous production since 1930. A pipeline was laid from the Logsdon Valley area to Munfordville where the oil was loaded on railcars. The lack of transportation facilities in 1930 was a factor that curtailed continued development in this area.

The Coghill lease was discovered in 1982 and is still in production. This lease paid $1,000,000 to the investors in the first two years of production. This trend of production continues for several miles and any extension of this play will have to be in the vicinity of the acreage controlled by Majestic Management Corporation.
